Biography


Raghav "Rags" Gupta is VP of International Partnerships at Brightcove, the Internet TV service, where he is currently helping ramp the Company's sales and business development efforts in the EU. He has previously helped run Brightcove's consumer initiatives and continues to leads its music industry vertical strategy and partnerships including corporate deals with SonyBMG, Warner Music Group and Universal Music Group. Prior to Brightcove, Rags consulted to a number of companies around their digital media strategy and fundraising, including NPR, Giant Step and kSolo, and currently works with digital media startups, venture capitalists and entrepreneurs in an advisory capacity, including MocoSpace, the mobile social network. Rags served as the COO of Live365, the leading internet radio network, building the company into a top user-created radio destination with thousands of channels and millions of users. At Live365, Rags drove the Company's strategy and overall vision in a general management capacity, shaping the Company's business development, label relations, advertising sales and development functions. Since becoming a member of the senior management team in late 2001, Rags helped to raise bridge funding and planned and executed a complete Company turnaround. He also served as a Board Member for DiMA, the Digital Media Association, from 2003 to 2005.


Prior to Live365, Rags was a strategy consultant at Mercer Management Consulting, working with Fortune 1000 clients in the insurance and publishing industries. Rags has spoken at a number of high profile industry events in the U.S., Europe and Asia including Digital Hollywood, Jupiter Plug-In, Streaming Media, Digital Music Forum, and the Kagan Radio Summit among others. He has been quoted in key media outlets including the Wall Street Journal, San Jose Mercury News, San Francisco Chronicle, Boston Globe, New York Post, and the BBC.
