Lady Gaga is now getting sued by ex-boyfriend and ex-producer Rob Fusari, according to paperwork surfacing Friday morning. The lawsuit, a $30.5 million fiasco, claims that Fusari wrote and collaborated on a number of hit Gaga songs, and shaped the image that transformed Stefani Germanotta into a global superstar.
Fusari claims he took Germanotta under his wing, while forging key musical and imaging aspects to ensure mainstream appeal. In fact, the filing also details a texting interplay between Fusari and Germanotta that allegedly resulted in the now-famous moniker, Lady Gaga. But that story has been contradicted by earlier comments from Germanotta.
The pair jointly created Team Love Child LLC in 2006, but the entity appears to have dissolved alongside the souring relationship. "All business is personal," the suit states, raising more questions than answers. Fusari has already been compensated $611,000, but is seeking broader payouts of 20 percent of song royalties and 15 percent of merchandising revenue.
Fusari credits include Will Smith's "Wild Wild West" and Destiny's Child's "Bootylicious". The Gaga camp is declining comment at this time.
