Competition is healthy, to a degree.  But what about competitive confusion?  On Tuesday, the entrepreneurs behind Jelli started peeling back their alpha, and revealing their creation to the Digital Music News and the world.  But that very same day, another online radio play - JellyRadio - was also clamoring for attention.

The San Mateo-based Jelli empowers users to create radio playlists online, and ultimately feeds that crowdsourcing to major terrestrial broadcasters.

JellyRadio  The San Diego-based JellyRadio is a more straight-ahead hip-hop station, spread across a wide range of online and mobile platforms - including iTunes, Ustream, and the iPhone.  As of Wednesday evening, JellyRadio was ranked 31st among free iPhone (and iPod touch) music apps.

That is just part of the traction being enjoyed by these urban programmers.  According to information shared with Digital Music News by executive Satien Mehta, Jelly has now attracted 260,000 listeners worldwide, a footprint that continues to grow.  Others at the helm include executive producer DJ Dizzo and program director DJ Bille Knight.
