Thinking Inside the Box: Last.fm Grabs a Million From Xbox Integration...

Last.fm has rustled a quick one million users from its recent Xbox integration, according to details shared by the company on Tuesday.  The scrobbling Last.fm, now owned by CBS, agreed to sync itself into Xbox Live alongside Facebook and Twitter last week.

That was a smart move.  The pickup - tallied across the UK and US over the past week - is the most aggressive gain for the service, ever.  The fresh userbase has already listened to 120 million minutes of music.

Others are also gaining, including Facebook.  Microsoft reported more than two million Facebook logins through Xbox Live, in the last week alone, and nice volumes of Xbox-generated Twitter traffic.  The Xbox integration also includes Microsoft cousin Zune, whose branded download store is also part of the integrated class.
